A strict cap isn't going to work. As an instance, should they limit it to 1000 gold subsequently players/bots will buy subs or account to wow classic gold use as mules to spread their gold across. If gold has been reset to 0, players/bots would bring across copious amounts of substances to sell in TBC.
You will find a lot of players wanting to purchase vanilla profession materials, for example. There are also some bis consumables which use vanilla herbs. And the biggest reason not consider it, is that unless they follow a severe effort to stop gold buyers/sellers, then affect only hurts honest players.
Almost 80% of the new folks we take in seem to prove to be golden farmers. (I think that the gold farmers are more widespread as they use WoW as a job and bounce between scripting and really controlling their toon) We have never gotten some kick backs from such personalities but we usually take just two raids to figure out they're golden sellers to have the ability to kick them out of guild.
I had the same tinfoil hat kind of buy classic wow gold conspiracy but I've given up on that plot. Reason being is I'm at a semi hardcore guild and in this stage in classic it's very tough to find new people coming raiders so when some unguided 60's desire in to get a trial raid spot we are made to try them out.
