If I create a TIN surface of a building facade, but then bring in a pair of photographs taken at close range for detail and TIN these at say 2mm I will end up with two TINs on separate layers.

Can the more detailed TIN be layered to the front, and if I want, can I window out the coarser TIN behind using the polygon of the detailed TIN?

Perhaps the merge TIN option could be used in this instance, but not at the expense of degrading the fine TIN

    Good question.

If I understand you correctly I think you mean you want to create a "layer mask" to keep the fine TIN and then merge it in to the existing coarser TIN?

Here's the result of a TIN Merge operation

I don't think there is any resulting degradation to the Fine TIN. I unchecked the average option in the Merge Dialogue.

This creates a new TIN, so you will end up with both originals and the Merged
